Guidelines to being a Healthy Dentist
It is the duty of a dentist to ensure their patients go home healthier. In most cases they end up forgetting their own health. Below are some ways a dentist can follow to ensure they maintain good health.
Being hydrated is very important for the body. It is evident that dentists can easily end up forgetting to drink anything during the day. This is due to the long hours and lines of attending to patients at the hospital. It is thus predictable that most dentists end up with a glass of water at the end of the shift. One thing is clear this is not recommendable. It is advisable for one to drink not less than eight glasses a day. Hence a bottle of water or soursop can do the trick when carried around for the dentist to drink.
From the traditional ages better health comes with better diets especially for dentists who get minimum time to take care of themselves. Most dentists will find themselves grabbing a snack at the hospital canteen, or a food truck and even a drive through meal which in most cases does not include all components of a good diet. The end results of this way of life is poor health for the dentist which makes them prone to falling sick. One should ensure they focus on eating a good diet which includes vegetables, fruits and also lean proteins. Hence for dentists to ensure they end up with the right meal, shopping for the right grocery and food items is much better than stuffing on snacks and fast food meals.
Exercise is a huge input when it comes to ensuring you maintain a healthy life. Many people might assume being on your toes throughout the day is enough exercise. The truth is a dentist will probably end up standing on many hours of the day few movements will be involved and only within the hospital. Hence getting to spend more time after working hours either in training rooms or running around the park will be much better at ensuring better health for a dentist.
A dentist is likely to feel tired and exhausted with stress from working on many clients. When the brain is tired and exhausted it relays the same to the body thus the body will feel drained. Hence a stressed brain is a stressed body. It is thus a good idea for every dentist to take some few minutes break and get a peace of mind before resuming their duties at the hospital. If you wish to achieve this, engage in activities like short walks around a nearby park, listening to calming music foe some minutes, reading a book or even meditating.
